A reported suicide near Pathways Center prompted a brief lockdown at Evans Middle School on Friday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:10 a.m., according to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. Evans Middle went into “code yellow” for several minutes as a precaution while law enforcement responded.

During a code yellow, exterior doors are locked and no one may enter or exit the building, though classes continue as normal.

“The situation did not impact our campus in any way,” the school said in an alert to families.
