Adams County officials are hoping that the reshaping of the area where the former Boyers North Denver roastery rested will be a key component to spark residential growth in the Welby community, located in the southwest corner of the county.
Welby is a large industrial area wedged just east of I-25 and north of I-76 and is serviced by Washington Street. It has long been targeted by Adams County for redevelopment for houses, grocery stores and recreation outlets for residents.
The first step to add housing and other amenities to Welby began last month, when the Adams County Commissioners approved the rezoning and preliminary development plan for the area that once housed the Boyers Coffee outlet. The site included a coffee roasting facility, warehouse, distribution area and retail sales.
