CLEVELAND — Macedonia firefighters extinguished a "significant industrial fire" that broke out inside the Jamestown Container Companies packaging facility on Thursday evening.
According to the Macedonia Fire Department, the fire was reported just after 5:30 p.m. at the corrugated packaging facility on Bavaria Drive East, with firefighters first arriving at 5:41 p.m.
"Initial reports indicated the fire began in a machine called a bailer at the rear of the building. Inside, bales of cardboard, stacked 12 to 15 feet high, were burning deep within their cores. After a short time on scene, crews identified that they had two separate fires in the building, each on separate sides of the building," the fire department said. "Fire command upgraded their fire response and requested more departme
