MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Thousands of your taxpayer dollars were spent on an overnight meeting for top city officials less than a mile from city hall.

Receipts FOX13 obtained through a public records request show Memphis Mayor Paul Young's executive retreat last month cost $18,126.24.

It included a couple of days of meetings and an overnight stay at the Bass Pro Pyramid. Receipts from the event held July 10-11 show there were 12 guests who took part.

The biggest cost was $10,000 to Consilience Group, a Memphis-based consulting firm, to "design and deliver a 1.5-day leadership retreat for the City of Memphis Executive Leadership team."

Lunch cost about $600. Breakfast the next day cost $396, and that doesn't count $150 for three gallons of coffee.
