NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) - A popular local attraction, the Children Playing in the Rain fountain, is temporarily shut down after an unexpected flock of Canadian geese took a liking to it.

According to a Facebook post, city staff say the birds’ repeated visits have forced multiple drainings and power washes this week, creating maintenance challenges.

The city is exploring humane ways to encourage the geese to move along so the fountain can be refilled and reopened soon. Officials thanked residents for their patience and understanding during the closure.
