PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Zoo has three new members: Biscuit, Jam and Jelly. The trio of Nigerian dwarf goats came to zoo earlier this summer and now join the Family Farm.
The new goats started spending time with the larger goat herd this week. So far, the zoo's six other Nigerian dwarf and mini-Nubian goat have accepted Biscuit, Jam and Jelly into the herd — with minimal head-butting, the zoo said.
“They’re playing in the yard with the other goats and settling in very well,” said Jen Osburn Eliot, who oversees the zoo’s Family Farm area. “Biscuit is a year old, and Jam and Jelly are about five months old, so the babies like to follow his lead.”
Zoo visitors will be able to meet the new trio at the goat yard on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
