HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An alleged retaliation against the former District Attorney of Kings County has been settled with a $1.9 million payout, according to Kings County.
Officials confirmed on Friday that a lawsuit was filed against former DA Keith Fegundes, alleging retaliation. The lawsuit filed by Alexandria Smith alleged that DA Keith Fegundes had retaliated against her in 2021.
The jury trial, which began on July 28 and concluded on Aug. 6, reached a verdict in favor of Alexandria Smith, according to Kings County.
In a statement, Kings County officials say they are "deeply committed to maintaining a professional and respectful work environment where all individuals are treated with dignity."
