(The Center Square) – Riders from the northeast region’s biggest cities will soon board a new highspeed train to the nation’s capital , Amtrak said Thursday.

The NextGen Acela will connect Boston, New York City and Washington along a 457-mile route that will offer nearly one-third more seats and expanded weekday and weekend service starting Aug. 28.
