FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A 16-year-old boy was sentenced Friday to serve more than a decade in prison for his role in a robbery and a shooting within a week of each other late last year.

A judge in Allen Superior Court handed Nayshaun Washington a 14-year sentence.

Investigators connected then-15-year-old Washington to a robbery from Oct. 26, 2024, and a shooting six days later on Nov. 1. He was initially charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and armed robbery. He faced up to 92 years in prison, but in July took a plea deal, pleading guilty to aggravated battery in connection to the shooting and robbery in the other case.
