TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A juvenile driving a Toyota Tundra pickup died in a crash with a crane truck Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says around 1 p.m.officers responded to the area of Avenue 424 and Road 120.

Investigators say the Toyota was on Avenue 424, approaching the intersection with Road 120, and had a posted stop sign. The crane truck was traveling northbound on Road 120 and was approaching the intersection with Avenue 424.

The driver of the Toyota, described by officers as a juvenile male, was not wearing a seatbelt, according to CHP, and failed to stop at the posted stop sign where they collided.

The driver of the pickup died at the scene. The driver of the crane suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital
