CLEARFIELD COUNTY (WTAJ) - Following the death at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center earlier this week, many groups are calling on Clearfield County to shut down the center.

State police have ruled the Chinese citizen's death a suicide. He was found hanging and unresponsive in a shower room early Tuesday morning. Staff attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead just after 6 a.m.

Advocacy groups from outside Clearfield County immediately took action, calling for the Clearfield County commissioners to pull out of their contracts with ICE and GEO, the privately owned group operating the center. However, commissioners say that even if they pull out of their contract, they don't believe it would cause the center to shut down.
