SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- The property isn't yet in city limits but the city of Sioux Falls took an action that's one step closer to the annexation of land that could hold a new data center.
The Sioux Falls City Council on Wednesday approved a change in its 2040 comprehensive plan that would allow for a data center just east of Sioux Falls, east of North Veterans Parkway and south of East Rice Street. The data center is proposed by Gemini which is based in California, according to city documents.
The land is about 164 acres. The change moves the land from Tier 3 to Tier 1 and would allow for future industrial zoning.
