GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - With students returning to classrooms this month, the Center for Children Safety (CCS) is urging drivers to slow down, stay alert, and follow key safety rules in school zones.

According to a press release from the CCS, this fall, the organization will visit more than nine school across Wisconsin, reaching over 600 students, with lessons on pedestrian awareness, bus safety, and bicycle rules on the road.

The goal is to reduce preventable childhood injuries in the Greater Green Bay community.

CCS is also sharing safety tips for parents and drivers, including slowing down in school zones, knowing bus laws, watching for young pedestrians, and encouraging children to walk in groups and wear bright or reflective clothing.
