PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man was arrested after being accused of breaking into a home in Porterville while being armed with a metal pipe Friday morning, police said.

Police arrested 49-year-old Christopher Kane from Porterville.

On Aug. 8 at around 5:20 a.m., officers with the department were dispatched to the 1900 block of North Maston Street regarding a man who broke into a home and was armed with a metal pipe.

When officers arrived on the scene, a woman began yelling through an open window that the man had forced his way into her bedroom.

Police said that officers entered the home and encountered Kane in the bedroom holding a pocket knife in his hand.
