SALISBURY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A man accused wielding a machete during a robbery of a Salisbury convenience store was arrested Friday.

According to the Salisbury Police Department, officers responded to the 1000 block of East Innes Street, near Interstate 85, at 3:45 a.m. Aug. 8. They were told that a man armed with a machete had entered the store and demanded money.

The man was reportedly given an undisclosed amount of money, and at that time, he left in a vehicle.

Officers were able to watch surveillance video and identify the vehicle in which the suspect, 31-year-old Rudolph Alfredo Smith Jr., reportedly left the scene.
