ATHENS, Texas (KETK) -- Probolsky Research representatives started surveying the Athens area on Friday to conduct door-to-door interviews and gather household income information.
The City of Athens said the surveys are fast, confidential and essential for representing the city. One of the main reasons these surveys are conducted is because household income is used to award grants from state and governments.
Usually, household income information is gathered through census data, but small communities such as Athens benefit from participating in a more accurate data collection method. Surveys will be taking place across the city over five days and the city hopes to complete their data collection by next week.
