CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Arkansas Department of Transportation says the bridge across the Frog Bayou on Highway 282 west of Highway 71 between Alma and Mountainburg is scheduled to close around the clock for replacement.

According to a press release, the bridge will close at 7 a.m. August 11 and is expected to remain closed for 120 days.

The release says crews will replace the existing bridge with a box culvert. The highway will remain open to local traffic only on either side of the closure. A detour sign will be in place.

Northbound traffic will detour using Highway 71 north to Highway 282 in Mountainburg and proceed south on Highway 282. Southbound traffic will take Highway 71 south to Highway 282 near Alma and then proceed north on Highway 282.
