MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Ford Motor Company is in the process of producing its new electric pickup trucks at BlueOval City; however, a mass production delay has pushed back the launch date to 2028, instead of 2027.

The company made a similar announcement back in August of 2024.

Despite the latest delay, a Ford spokesperson told WREG that the prototype builds are still scheduled for 2027.

Aaron Stewart, the executive director for Brownsville-Haywood Economic Development Corporation, said Ford’s decision will be beneficial for the community.

“Their updated timeline gives us something valuable. It’s time to continue preparing our region in the right way," Stewart said.
