CLEVELAND — A Summit County jury has convicted a 20-year-old man of multiple charges including murder in the fatal shooting of an Akron mother last July.

According to Summit County Prosecutor Elliott Kolkovich, Denzel Pope was found guilty of the following charges in the death of 24-year-old Paige Calich:

Two counts of murder with a 3-year firearm specification – an unclassified felony.

Two counts of felonious assault with a 3-year firearm specification – a second degree felony.

One count of having weapons while under disability – a third degree felony.

In May, a second suspect — Denzel Pope's 26-year-old sister Corvette Pope — pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of obstructing justice.
