COLUMBUS, Ohio — A grassroots group pushing to protect Ohioans from discrimination and to protect the right to same-sex marriage is now working to get two separate constitutional amendments on the November 2026 ballot.

Late Friday afternoon, Attorney General Dave Yost's office announced it has certified the petition titles and summaries for the two new proposed amendments .

That means the organization Ohio Equal Rights can begin collecting petition signatures. They will need to collect nearly 414,000 valid voter signatures for each amendment, which is 10% of the votes for governor in the last gubernatorial election, from at least 44 of the state's 88 counties to get the measures on the ballot.
