MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- An annual back-to-school prayer walk is planned Sunday evening in Myrtle Beach, ahead of Horry County students' return to classes the following week.
The nondenominational walk is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium at 705 33rd Ave. N., according to the city of Myrtle Beach. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Attendees will walk through Myrtle Beach school campuses, pray, listen to music and enjoy free treats from Nola’s Stuffed Snoballs, the city said. In the event of inclement weather, the event will become a "prayer drive" in which participants will instead slowly drive through the Seahawk District.
The 2025-26 academic year begins on Aug. 18. Anyone with questions about the event can contact the city's Neighborhood Services Department
