ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Firefighters responded to an unusual call Thursday morning after there were reports of an explosion on County Street in Attleboro.
In a post on social media, the department said that a chemical agent was being used to clean a metal melting machine at Bruce Diamond Corporation when there was a "flash explosion."
The building's sprinkler system was activated, and the employees there were quickly able to put out the fire with fire extinguishers.
According to the fire department, the flames were contained to the area where the explosion happened, and the fire wasn't able to spread to the rest of the building.
One person who was hurt was evaluated at the scene but did not have to go to the hospital.
