From the classroom to the cloud line: China Spring students take flight in plane they built in school

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - It’s a dream that was two years in the making and now it has officially taken flight.

The advanced engineering students at China Spring High School have finished building an aircraft from the ground up, and on August 8, they got to experience it soar.

It’s hard to believe it was two years ago when KWTX first walked into the workshop with a plane in pieces and a group of teenagers not quite sure what they just got themselves into.

Those then juniors are now days away from starting college and they are already seeing their futures take flight.

As the plane starts up, it’s the sound of a vision taking off. The sound of sweat, struggle and hundreds of hours of work seen soaring above the crowd.
