MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The newly formed University of Memphis Innovative School District is expanding a new elementary school in the Sherwood Forest area, the second in the district.
Campus School Kimball will open at the former St. George's Independent School campus at 3749 Kimball Avenue near Robinhood Lane. It will serve students in grades K-5.
All elementary students currently at St. George's will have the opportunity to remain and continue in the University Schools middle and high school campuses.
A ceremonial ribbon-cutting was held Friday.
The University school district serves around 1,200 students and has the second-highest TCAP scores in the state, the district says.
The district was formed last year, centered around the U of M Campus School that has operated since 1912.
