MINOT, ND (KXNET) — In just a month's time, one new gathering place is already making a big impact on the downtown area and the businesses surrounding it.

On July 10, Citizens Alley in downtown Minot held its first unofficial event. Over the past month, the alley has been open to the public, playing host to different events and activities such as turf, yoga, public art, pickleball, and live events.

Not only has this area served as a place for people in the community to enjoy, but it has also benefited local businesses, such as Weekender.

Madeline Knutson, the owner of Weekender, says over the past month, they have found themselves staying open later on the days that the events are held in the Alley due to a big increase of foot traffic throughout the shop.
