OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - More than 60 federal and local law enforcement personnel arrested 28 fugitives across the Omaha-metro area Thursday in an operation led by FBI Omaha.

According to a Friday afternoon news release from the FBI’s Omaha field office, multiple agencies participated in “Operation Summer Heat” throughout the week, culminating in the arrests.

Additionally, two firearms were seized during the operation.

The operation focused on “executing federal warrants on violent criminals and fugitives, and dismantling violent gangs nationwide,” the release states.
