LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - An 18-year-old is accused of murder in a deadly shooting at a Lake Charles bar.

Dominic White of Lake Charles faces the following charges:

Second-degree murder

Illegal use of weapons or other dangerous instrumentalities

Just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 2, Lake Charles police officers noticed a large crowd outside On The Rocks on McNeese Street, LCPD Deputy Chief Kevin Kirkum said.

Shots were fired while police were clearing the crowd, and officers found 20-year-old Johnjose Connor Welsh lying in the parking lot. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police identified White as the suspected gunman and issued a warrant for his arrest the same day of the shooting, Kirkum said.
