Keller’s Public Works Department put in guard rails along Bear Creek Parkway across from Bear Creek Intermediate School, according to a city post from July 28.

The details

The city-funded work cost $29,000 and did not require council approval, said Rachel Reynolds, Keller's communication and public engagement manager.

The guardrails are a preventive measure since the road is close to a pedestrian trail, bringing cars close to people walking along the path, the post stated. No recent auto-pedestrian accidents have occurred, per the update.

There are 11,000 vehicles that travel this stretch of Little Bear Creek Parkway per day, Reynolds said.
