Just over a week since the MLB trade deadline, the Seattle Mariners find themselves without one of their big acquisitions.

First baseman Josh Naylor is out of the lineup for Friday’s 6:40 p.m. series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. This comes after Naylor exited Thursday’s win over the Chicago White Sox in the fourth inning.

Josh Naylor exits Mariners game with shoulder issue

Naylor showed discomfort on his swings during an at-bat in the third inning Thursday. When the Mariners came out to play defense in the following frame, Donovan Solano took over for Naylor at first.

After Thursday’s win, Mariners manager Dan Wilson said Naylor left the game with shoulder soreness and is day-to-day.
