BENTON COUNTY, Mo. — An 80-year-old man from Warsaw died in a two-vehicle wreck at 6:65 a.m. Friday morning, Aug. 8, in Benton County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the Warsaw man was northbound in a 1997 Ford F-150 on U.S. 65 north of Yoder Avenue.

The wreck occurred when he crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2013 Kenworth truck-tractor driven by a 22-year-old man from Fortuna. The collision was head-on.

After impact, the Kenworth slowed and came to a stop on the shoulder lane, and the Ford began to skid across northbound lanes before overturning into the ditch.

The Warsaw man was transported to the scene by the Benton County Coroner. He was not wearing a seat belt, per the report.

Next of kin have been notified, the report says.
