MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WFSB) - It’s an item on almost every college student’s packing list: a quality laptop. In many school districts, every student now gets a school-issued Chromebook.

Zachary Dickson from Portland says he didn’t always take the best care of his Chromebook.

“It broke a couple of times, but I probably wasn’t as responsible as I should have been with it just because it was like school-issued and I didn’t really think about keeping as good care of it as I probably should have,” said Dickson.

Dickson will be heading off to the University of Mississippi in a few weeks with the first laptop of his own. It was a graduation gift from his parents. He says he plans to take better care of this one.

“My parents paid for it, and they’ll kill me if I break it,” said Dickson.
