SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) - A South Windsor High School student used her inventing skills to help fellow teenagers who may be struggling with their mental health.

Anishka Vejendla spent two years created an app called ‘Happy Teenz’ which led her to win second place at the National Invention Convention.

“I couldn’t find any solutions out there specifically for teenagers so I knew I had to create something,” Vejendla said.

It’s an app that provides teens with resources for their mental health.

“Some people close to me were struggling a little bit more than others and it was visible to me and I wanted to find any way to help them,” she added.

The app has a homework checker and a place for teens to track their meals.

But most importantly, it has the ability to help kids in a crisis.
