BRISTOL, CT. (WFSB) - The Fairfield National Little League team is one win away from punching their ticket to Williamsport for the Little League World Series.

They will go head-to-head with New York, who beat them 6-1 Monday.

This is the first time in their league’s history that they have made it to the metro regional, and it’s been a crazy rollercoaster ride of emotions so far.

They won their first game against New Jersey 2-1 with the final out of the game coming on a wild play where a runner was called out for sliding headfirst into second base.

They would beat them again on Wednesday 3-0 to book their spot in Friday night’s matchup.

First pitch for the game is set for 7:00 p.m.
