This weekend, an event in Anchorage will honor families who’ve experienced the loss of a pregnancy, infant, or child.

The Walk to Remember is set for Saturday, August 9, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

The day begins at 9 a.m. in the hospital’s Day Surgery gallery, just left of the Emergency Department entrance, with a reception and remembrance art activities. At 10 a.m., participants will walk to University Lake, where a brief remembrance ceremony will be held.

For those who can’t attend in person, the lakeside ceremony will be streamed live at 10:20 a.m. on the Providence Alaska Facebook page.
