ATLANTA — The shelter-in-place order has been lifted after an active shooter situation unfolded at the Emory Atlanta Campus at Emory Point CVS.
An 11Alive source said a law enforcement officer has been injured. NBC News reported that a DeKalb County law enforcement officer was hurt during the incident. The news outlet reported the officer was taken to Emory University Hospital. However, no details about the nature of the officer's injuries were released.
Initially, Emory officials shared on X to "RUN, HIDE, FIGHT" and told people to "avoid the area."
Emory College of Arts and Sciences re-shared the same post. The Atlanta Police Department said it's investigating the incident unfolding near the 1700 block of Clifton Road.
There is a massive police presence near the area.
