OMAHA, Neb. —

A potential G2 geomagnetic storm may put the northern lights visible to some of our countries northern most states.

It may be a bit of a drive north of Omaha to see the aurora borealis. The viewing line extends to the border of Nebraska and South Dakota.

In order to see the glow of the northern lights, it's important to remember to find a dark location away from light pollution.

You can also use your phone camera as a tool. Often times a photo with your exposure up can capture the northern lights much better than the naked eye.
