OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. —
Chef Robert Irvine, known for his appearances on the Food Network, visited Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base to host "Breaking Bread with Heroes," a luncheon two years in the making.
The event brought together 1,200 attendees, ranging from military personnel to their families, to share a meal.
The Robert Irvine Foundation team arrived three days early to prepare for the event, with a roster made up of 40 volunteers from Offutt Air Force Base.
“We started at 7:00 this morning,” said Shane Cash, one of Irvine’s sous-chefs, who oversaw the preparation of food for the guests.
Chef Irvine, a British Royal Navy veteran and proud U.S. citizen for 22 years, emphasized the importance of supporting military communities.
