SAVANNAH, G.A. — After making history in 2022 as the first woman to appear in an Atlantic League game with the FerryHawks, pitcher Kelsie Whitmore is breaking new ground once again by joining the Savannah Bananas, the barnstorming exhibition team that has skyrocketed in popularity among baseball fans.

Known for their entertaining approach to the game, the Bananas have taken the baseball world by storm with on-field antics like choreographed routines, players performing on stilts, and a host of other in-game shenanigans — all designed to bring fun to fans of all ages.

Whitmore, who spent two seasons in St. George, joined the Oakland Ballers of the Pioneer League in 2024 before signing with the Bananas on Aug.
