The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season still holds the promise of developing more tropical activity than usual, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service .
As indicated in their latest outlook , it is most likely that this season will feature above-average activity levels.
There is a 50% likelihood that the Atlantic hurricane season will be characterized by above-normal activity, a 35% chance of a near-normal season and a 15% chance of a below-average season, as indicated by the NOAA.
Typically, the average hurricane season — which runs from June 1 through Nov. 30 — will produce 14 named storms. Of those storms, seven usually become hurricanes and three become major hurricanes.
