LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - State Route 7 has seen several fatal crashes during the past few years, with the most recent deadly crash happening last Friday, Aug. 1.

Bryston Adkins, who was only 6, and Heather Reger, 47, both died in that crash.

“You know, that section of State Route 7 has shown to be a dangerous area in the last few years,” said Sgt. Derek Malone with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. “We’ve had some significant crashes in that area.”

It’s the stretch between Proctorville and Chesapeake that has seen three fatal crashes since 2022. One more fatal accident since then happened on another part of the road in Lawrence County, according to the OSHP.

They also said the road in the county has seen more than 400 crashes since 2020.
