Odessa Police Chief Mike Gerke proudly announced the induction of 11 new police officers into the Odessa Police Department. The graduation ceremony took place this afternoon at the Odessa Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

>> Officer Alfredo Ayala Jr., 23, is from Odessa and hopes to be assigned to the Traffic Unit at some point in his career.

>> Officer Garrett Collins, 26, is from Odessa and is a U.S. Navy veteran. He hopes to be a future SWAT officer and homicide detective.

>> Officer Austin Evans, 21, is from Doyline, Louisiana and hopes to be assigned to Narcotics at some point in his career.

>> Officer Juan Fierro, 21, is from Odessa and hopes to be assigned to Narcotics at some point in his career.
