Four men convicted of killing NBA star Chris Paul’s grandfather had their convictions overturned on Friday, High Point television station Fox 8 reported.
The TV station said the information came from an attorney.
The path to overturning the verdict leads back to January.
That’s when an evidentiary hearing was held in Forsyth Superior Court for the four of the men convicted of the crime: Nathaniel Arnold Cauthen, Rayshawn Denard Banner, Christopher Levon Bryant and Jermal Matthew Tolliver.
The fifth defendant, Dorrell Queshane Brayboy, was killed in 2019.
The hearing ended Jan. 25 with defense attorneys urging the judge to overturn the convictions against the four living men.
