LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Almost two months after the disaster, volunteers continue to come in and help the victims of the May 16 tornado that ripped up a large section of London.

This group is from Northern Kentucky, Erlanger Baptist Church. 17 volunteers from that congregation have been in London this past week. In that time, they’ve cleaned up five different locations.

On Friday, they gave their helping hands and feet to Wilderness Trail Wildlife Center. The organization takes in injured wild animals and releases them back into nature. The tornado destroyed the caretaker’s home, fence and other property. Volunteers are happy to move people forward.

“To see that progress is amazing, of getting the rocks and the wood and all of the debris,” said Rosie Allen with Erlanger Baptist Church.
