LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
An award-winning documentary about the Negro Leagues is going to be shown at Louisville Slugger Museum this weekend.
"I Forgot to Tell You About..." is the story of the Cleveland Buckeyes.
The team won the 1945 Negro League World Series and later played one season at Parkway Field in Louisville.
The director, who teaches at Simmons College, came up with the idea while planning to take her kids to her hometown of Cleveland.
"When I was researching and looking at museums, different things to teach them, I came across this article about the Cleveland Buckeyes and I had never heard of them. And then I heard that they won a championship," said Evelyn Gregory, director of film and media studies at Simmons.
Former MLB all-star Kenny Lofton produced the film.
