GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- FOX8 is getting a better idea of what may have happened to an 84-year-old man with dementia when he walked away from a nursing home in Greensboro on Tuesday.

Willie Wright was returned to his family with a fractured jaw and eye socket and a brain bleed, leaving his family to ask what happened.

From a 911 call and the dispatch report obtained through an open records request, FOX8 found out that two witnesses reported seeing Wright being beaten and left behind in the middle of the road.

In the 911 call, witnesses were frantic.

The dispatch report associated with the 911 call said the victim will be a missing man from Greenhaven Health and Rehab. It also noted that the person fell.
