COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is urging residents to stay alert after the release of a man arrested for an alleged attack and attempted kidnapping in Columbia.
The incident happened on Aug 2nd on Miles Road, where investigators say a Columbia woman was riding her bicycle when she was struck by a vehicle. Authorities say the driver then turned around and returned to where she was lying in the road.
According to deputies, the suspect—24-year-old Timothy Ulness—got out of the vehicle, hit the woman in the face, and placed her in a chokehold. He then attempted to drag her to his car, but the woman fought back and was able to escape.
