Travelers sailing to New Jersey via the Delaware Bay may have a new place to stay, in the form of a new hotel built courtesy of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.
The Delaware River and Bay Authority, which operates the service, is contemplating a bay-front boutique hotel at the ferry’s Jersey Shore terminal in North Cape May.
Earlier this month, the Lower Township Council listened to a presentation by the authority that outlined the hotel proposal.
DRBA officials said the hotel would provide about 50 full-time jobs and have a $6.3 million annual economic impact.
The hotel concept is not a new one, said James Salmon, a spokesman for DRBA.
