Morgan Whittaker is determined to show the best of himself at Middlesbrough this season, admitting his first six months at the club were difficult.

Whittaker was a marquee signing for Boro in the January transfer window, but coming into what was already a team struggling for form, he failed to make a positive impression. Having previously shown how much quality he has at Plymouth Argyle, the forward struggled to produce that form on Teesside.

But, having settled into the team and the area, and now playing under a new boss with a new tactical plan, Whittaker is targeting a big season for Boro. It follows a positive pre-season campaign after he did some personal reflection over his summer break.
