According to CalFire , at around 1:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, Aug. 7, a brush fire northwest of Los Angeles erupted, prompting evacuation orders for thousands of people. As of early Friday morning, the Canyon Fire covered more than 4,800 acres and is 0% contained .
