STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Freshkills Park Alliance recently welcomed Achilles International to Staten Island for a groundbreaking adaptive cycling clinic at North Park.

The event, which took place July 27, marked the first time the global nonprofit brought its adaptive cycling program to the borough, offering athletes with disabilities the chance to explore the park’s accessible trails.

Participants of all ages and ability levels navigated North Park’s paved pathways using adaptive bicycles provided by Achilles International, an organization dedicated to transforming lives through athletic programs and social connection for people with disabilities.
